SMVM began its development efforts by aiming at increasing participation of minorities, disadvantaged and unreached community in mainstream development processes by providing ample of opportunities to realize their immense innate human potential. It seeks to empower these groups by enabling them to priorities their problem and ask for solution.
SMVM functions in programme mode with unique approaches and processes involving multi-stakeholders. In all its development activities, community mobilisation is ensured as a key to ensure maximum impact on the community. All its interventions are community and institutional based.
The thrust of SMVM is to build the organisational and leadership capacities of its stakeholders. SMVM takes a holistic and integrated approach to development that favours the sustainability of its programmes by providing people access to tools, training and structures they need.
SMVM is being supported by national and international donors and Central and State governments. Its efforts have been widely appreciated by all stakeholders and disseminated at various levels.
