Governing Board

The Governing Board comprises seven elected members from diverse background. The board members have expert knowledge in SMVM's programme areas. They share a common desire to help the disadvantage communities of society and to engage these deprived sections in mainstream development processes.

One of the founding board members, Mrs Nargis Khatoon, serves as Executive Secretary.

The board aims to improve opportunities for communites and enable them to realise their full human potential. The board meets at least four times in a year.

Sr. Alice Xalxa, President

Sr.Alice has 30 years of long experience in teaching and research, during this tenure she was associated with many renowned organizations and supported many development programmes. She has implemented and evaluated many development programmes. She has published many research papers and articles in reputed journals.

Her major areas of interests include child and maternal health, education, livelihood and NGO management. Due to her versatile nature she has honored with many prestigious awards and accolades. Sr. Alice is representing Christian Children Fund as Chairperson and Mahila Sangh directress.

 
         
   

Mrs. Nargis Khatoon, Executive Secretary

Mrs. Nargis Khatoon is one of the founder members of the organization and has garnered experience in Water, Sanitation, Health, Child Labour, trafficking and migration, Community management and NGO management. She was trained in designing and training methodology especially in child health, rural development and women empowerment.

She has more than a decade of long experience in successfully implementing the community based project, designing and conducting training programmes. She has contributed towards policy design, planning (micro planning), and program implementation. She has been honored with several prestigious awards.

 
         
   

Mrs. Johra Khatoon, Treasurer

Mrs. Johra Khatoon in another founder member of the organization and has long experience of programme management and its implementation. She has considerable experience in fund management.

 
         
   

Mrs. Ritu Samal, Member

Mrs.  Samal is a skilled vocational trainer and associated with various reputed training institutes. She has garnered experience in organizing and conducting training programmes for women and adolescent  and extends support them through bank and market linkage

 
         
   

Mrs. Sabnam Perween, Member

Mrs. Perween has 08 years of considerable experience in designing course curriculum, methodology of various trades of vocational courses. She has also associated with many different training institutes.

 
         
   

Ms. Basmati Biruli, Member

Ms. Biruli has long experience in strengthening credit delivery mechanism. She is a micro insurance consultant and provides credit facilities to the various community based organizations/farmer groups/youth groups in consultation with Life Insurance Corporation of India.

 
         
   

Ms. Nikhat R. Perween, Member

Ms. Perween is a differently abled person and is trained in behavior change communication, she promotes the disability campaigns at various levels.
